Moderate-Risk Growth

A growth-oriented portfolio with 70 per cent equity exposure would suit moderate-risk investors…

I want to invest Rs 25 lakh in mutual funds with 20 per cent in liquid funds and remaining in equities. I can take moderate risk. Please suggest the best portfolio for my investment to earn 12-15 per cent from my equity component.

Long-term investing works best when investing regularly in a systematic manner for wealth creation. You should park the entire Rs 25 lakh in a liquid fund and initiate SIP investments in a growth-oriented portfolio comprising five funds with 70 per cent equity exposure offering diversity in style and numbers. This is a portfolio for moderate risk takers and should suit your risk profile. Have equal allocation across the funds which are highly rated by us and have a proven track record and performance history. Make sure you track the performance of the selected funds at least once a year to follow its progress in achieving your long-term investment goal.
