I want to invest through SIPs worth Rs 5,000 and I am willing to take a higher risk for the next 3-5 years. Please suggest funds that I can invest in

A 3-5 year investment horizon is a good starting point when investing through systematic investment plans. Ideally for a new investor we would suggest to start with a balanced fund that has an equity tilt. However, as you are willing to take a higher risk, we suggest you consider large- and mid-cap oriented funds that are not at the extreme end of the risk spectrum. Consider funds such as HDFC Top 200 or Fidelity India Growth. And, make sure that you track the performance of the funds you invest in to observe which way your investments are headed.
