Investing in funds through bank accounts

You can invest in mutual funds through your bank accounts only if the fund house allows transactions via your bank

Can I purchase a mutual fund through my saving bank (SBI) account online? - Raj Devanand

Yes you can. However, fund houses will only conduct transactions through certain banks. Go to the website of the fund house whose schemes you are interested in and on their website itself they will list the permitted banks. Do note that most fund houses do not offer the systematic investment plan (SIP) through this process.
