Now that Lotus has been acquired by Religare, should investors continue investing in the Lotus schemes

Lotus has been acquired by Religare. In this context, all unit holders have been given an option to redeem units before Religare takes over Lotus. Please advise us on the impact of this acquisition on investors. What is your advice on continuing the investment in the existing schemes of Lotus?

The ownership of Lotus AMC has changed recently and it has been renamed as Religare AMC. This will mean new management for its funds and business dimensions. From an investor's standpoint, the two owners are not very different. Both are relatively new players without any pedigree in the asset management business. We are quite neutral to the ownership change at Lotus AMC. Investors should decide on the basis of specific fund performance and tax implications of moving their money elsewhere.
