About Bombay Coated and Special Steels Company

Bombay Coated & Special Steels Limited, incorporated in December 2019, builds on a steel-trading business begun by its promoter in 1983 under M/s. Bombay Steels and has evolved from trading into a multi-location steel processing centre, acquiring the legacy business in 2021 and expanding to four plants in Wada and Bhiwandi (Maharashtra), Ghiloth (Rajasthan) and Sri City (Andhra Pradesh). Its core business is converting coated, hot-rolled, non-coated and galvanised steel coils into customer-specified, ready-to-use inputs through precision slitting, cut-to-length processing, shearing and embossing. Its primary products are slit coils, embossed slit coils, blanks, embossed blanks and sheared blanks, serving OEMs and ODMs in home and commercial appliances, refrigeration, automotive and components, electrical equipment, ventilation, pharmaceutical cleanroom infrastructure and general engineering. Its expertise lies in high-precision coil processing—slitting tolerances of about ±0.1 mm, cut-to-length lines handling thicknesses up to 2.5 mm, and embossing capacity of 48,000 metric tonnes—alongside logistics, inventory management and just-in-time delivery. A distinctive strength is its service-centre model: it sits between steel producers and manufacturers, combining processing with localised inventory, reliable supply and delivery, supported by its authorised service-partner relationship with JSW Steel Coated Products and an installed capacity of 123,153 MTPA as of June 2026. Its important customers include Haier Appliances India, IFB Refrigeration, Dixon Electro Manufacturing, Amber Enterprises, Western Refrigeration, PG Technoplast, EPack Durable and Kruger Ventilation Industries, with 178 customers served as of June 2026. Bombay Coated engages clients through long-term supply arrangements, specification-led processing, proximity to manufacturing clusters and responsive inventory and delivery support, addressing challenges of material availability, dimensional precision, freight and lead-time efficiency and the need for flexible, customised steel inputs in appliance and industrial supply chains.
