About PGIM India Liquid Fund
PGIM India Liquid Fund is a debt mutual fund scheme of PGIM India Mutual Fund. Launched on September 05, 2007, it is currently managed by Puneet Pal and Akhil Dhar. The fund has an expense ratio of 0.22% with an overall AUM (Assets Under Management) of ₹584 Cr.
PGIM India Liquid Fund is mandated to invest in bonds having a maturity of up to three months. The fund allows minimum lumpsum investment of ₹1,000 and minimum SIP of ₹1,000.
Investment Strategy
The scheme aims to generate steady returns with high liquidity by investing in a portfolio of short-term , high quality money market and debt instruments. The fund would invest atleast 80% of the corpus in instruments with average maturity upto one year upto 20% of the corpus in instruments with average maturity greater than an year.
Suitability
Liquid funds are suitable for:
- Parking emergency corpus or idle money for capital preservation
- Earning slightly higher returns than savings bank account, with low volatility
- Investment horizon of up to 1 year
Note:

Capital Gains Taxation
- If investment is made on or after 1 April 2023: Entire amount of gain is added to the investors' income and taxed according to the applicable slab rate.
- If investment is made before 1 April 2023:
- Sold within 2 years from the date of investment: Gains are added to the investors' income and taxed according to the applicable slab rate.
- Sold after 2 years from the date of investment: Gains are taxed at the rate of 12.5%.
- No tax is to be paid as long as you continue to hold the units.
