Investment Strategy
The scheme seeks to build a diversified portfolio of stocks of companies having sustainable business models, without any bias of market capitalisation and sector. The scheme will follow top-down approach of equity selection.
Suitability
"When you invest for five years or more, you can expect gains that comfortably beat the inflation rate as well as returns from fixed income options. In addition, there is a tax benefit. Under Section 80C of the Indian income tax laws, investments of up to Rs 1.5 lakh in a financial year in eligible securities such as this fund are exempt from tax.
But be prepared for ups and downs in your investment value along the way. Also note that you cannot withdraw your money from this fund before completing three years from the date of investment.

Bank of India ELSS Tax Saver Fund - Regular Plan is mandated to invest at least 80 per cent of its assets in equity stocks. It offers tax exemption under Section 80C of the Indian income tax laws. As per this section, investments of up to Rs 1.5 lakh in a financial year in eligible securities are exempt from tax.
Mutual funds can be bought directly from the website of the fund house. For instance, Bank of India ELSS Tax Saver Fund - Regular Plan fund can be purchased from the website of Bank of India Mutual Fund. You can also buy mutual funds through platforms like MF Central, MF Utility, among others. However, if you are not comfortable buying mutual funds online, you can seek help of a mutual fund distributor. Most banks also act as mutual fund distributors.
