Standard Chartered Arbitrage Fund is the latest offering from Stanchart AMC.
The investment objective is to generate capital appreciation and income by predominantly investing in arbitrage opportunities in cash and derivatives segment equity market as well as arbitrage opportunities available within the derivative segment. The balance will be invested in debt and money market instruments.
Asset allocation under normal circumstances:
Equity and equity related instruments: 65-90 per cent Derivatives: 65-90 per cent Debt, money market and margin money deployed in derivative transactions: 10-35 per cent
Asset allocation under defensive circumstances (when the fund manager feels that arbitrage opportunities in the market are negligible):
Equity and equity-related instruments: 0-35 per cent Derivatives: 0-35 per cent Debt, money market and margin money deployed in derivative transactions: 65-100 per cent
