Tata Mutual Fund is launching a core sector fund called Tata Infrastructure Sector Fund. The scheme will invest primarily in equity/equity related instruments of companies in infrastructure sectors largely comprising Energy, Coal, Steel, Cement, telecom, etc. The scheme may also invest in debt instruments in order to preserve capital in a bear market.
The fund's equity allocation will be in the range of 70 to 100 per cent of the total assets, whereas the exposure to debt instruments will be capped at 30 per cent.
