High-risk investment for three years

We recommend investing in equity mutual fund schemes only if the investor has an investment horizon of minimum five years

I want to invest in four mutual funds for three years. I want to take high risk for high gain. Please advise. I need the money in three years. My motto is zero or hero.

You seem to have equity mutual fund schemes in your mind since you are talking about high risk and high rewards. However, we recommend investing in equity mutual fund schemes only if the investor has an investment horizon of minimum five years. This is because though equity has the potential to offer superior returns over a long period, it can be extremely risky in the short term. Since you need the money in three years, it is better to invest in relatively safer avenues like bank deposits and debt mutual funds.
