Model-driven vs human-led portfolios?

We follow an active, all-weather approach to investing. At Unifi, we are fundamentally value investors in growth businesses. Our aim is to give clients the assurance that, regardless of the market cycle, their capital is being actively and prudently allocated to segments best positioned to perform. This is the essence of long-term active management, where clients don’t need to time the market or chase themes. Our fund managers make thoughtful, conviction-led allocation decisions, whether markets are rising or falling.
We want investors to feel they haven’t just bought a product, but subscribed to an ongoing investment service—one that is responsive, research-driven and rooted in a consistent philosophy. That’s why I can confidently say that our AMC is fund manager-led, focused on disciplined investing to deliver long-term value.
Your first fund and trust playbook?
Our philosophy draws from our sponsor’s 23-year successful investment experience across market cycles. We follow a GARP (growth at a reasonable price) approach with deep bottom-up research and a disciplined risk management framework. Our stock selection framework is entirely driven by our proprietary bottom-up, conviction-led research.
We also believe debt and hybrid strategies can offer meaningful, inflation-adjusted returns. Our preference is for hold-to-maturity strategies, than making duration bets based on macro calls.
We are not inclined to launch too many products. Our approach is focused and intentional. For low-volatility, stable returns, we offer a dynamic asset allocation fund. For long-term capital appreciation, we offer a flexi-cap fund that’s sector- and market-cap-agnostic.
On low-friction investing and investor churn.
Customer centricity and performance go hand in hand. While performance matters, true value is delivered only when it is matched with a strong client experience. Too often, performance doesn’t translate into investor returns due to premature exits driven by poor communication among asset managers, advisors and investors. We aim to bridge this gap with transparent, consistent communication that helps clients and distributors stay the course and make informed decisions that align with their goals. At Unifi, our goal is to deliver both performance with purpose and service with sincerity.
