I have recently booked some profits from shares and mutual funds. Will I face any tax liabilities?

There won't be any tax liabilities if you’ve held the investments for more than 1 year. Long-term capital gains from equity are tax-free in the hands of the investor. As long as the redemption proceeds are STT charged, there will be no tax to be paid.
