Is it worthwhile to invest in gold ETF funds?

Right now, the opinion is equally divided between gold being a worthwhile or a worthless investment. From that standpoint, one should take one's own call. The future of gold looks very uncertain and we are confident that we won't see the kind of momentum in gold prices that we have seen in the past 5 years. That apart, the gold investment alternatives are fairly straight forward. Invest in gold ETFs if you have a demat account. If you don't, opt for gold funds that invest in gold ETFs. However, remember that gold funds are costlier than gold ETFs.
