Exit JM Basic

JM Basic has been a disappointing fund for a long period. Redeem your investments if you haven’t already…

I would like your opinion on JM Basic. Why has the fund’s performance dropped? What should investors who have invested in this fund 4 years back do?
-Raj Singh

JM Basic is a very disappointing fund. You should have exited this fund long back, redeem your investments right away if you haven’t done so as yet. This fund did well for a very brief period of time before January 2008. It was the best performing fund in 2007, giving returns of 106 per cent. But it fell sharply and we don’t see this fund making a comeback, though the fund has undergone a radical change in terms of its portfolio. We would recommend you to reconcile with the losses and move on.
