I am new to investing. Is it a good time to invest?-Amit Singh
There is no right or wrong time to invest in the markets through mutual funds as long as you have a financial goal for which you are investing. We do understand your fears about the market at the moment. Given that you are new to investing, it would be a good idea to start investing in a balanced fund, that are actively managed, for the next six months to understand, familiarise and experience how investments in a mutual fund works. Use the SIP option to invest in these funds such as HDFC Prudence or Reliance Regular Savings Balanced fund. The impact of regular investing and compounding over the long term (ten years and above) will add tremendously to wealth creation helping you build a sizeable corpus.
