About HDFC NIFTY Midcap 150 ETF
HDFC NIFTY Midcap 150 ETF is a equity mutual fund scheme of HDFC Mutual Fund. Launched on February 15, 2023, it is currently managed by Arun Agarwal, Abhishek Mor and Nandita Menezes. The fund has an expense ratio of 0.20% with an overall AUM (Assets Under Management) of ₹121 Cr.
HDFC NIFTY Midcap 150 ETF is mandated to invest at least 65 per cent of its assets in mid-cap stocks at all times. Being passively managed, it replicates the portfolio of its chosen benchmark index. The fund allows minimum lumpsum investment of ₹-- and minimum SIP of ₹--.
Investment Strategy
The scheme seeks to generate returns that are commensurate (before fees and expenses) with the performance of the NIFTY Midcap 150 Index, subject to tracking error.

Capital Gains Taxation
- If the mutual fund units are sold after 1 year from the date of investment, gains upto Rs 1.25 lakh in a financial year are exempt from tax. Gains over Rs 1.25 lakh are taxed at the rate of 12.5%.
- If the mutual fund units are sold within 1 year from the date of investment, entire amount of gain is taxed at the rate of 20%.
- No tax is to be paid as long as you continue to hold the units.
