About LIC MF Nifty Next 50 Index Fund
LIC MF Nifty Next 50 Index Fund is a equity mutual fund scheme of LIC Mutual Fund. Launched on September 20, 2010, it is currently managed by Nikhil Kapoor. The fund has an expense ratio of 1.05% with an overall AUM (Assets Under Management) of ₹103 Cr.
LIC MF Nifty Next 50 Index Fund is mandated to invest at least 80 per cent of its assets in large-cap stocks at all times. Being passively managed, it replicates the portfolio of its chosen benchmark index. The fund allows minimum lumpsum investment of ₹500 and minimum SIP of ₹200.
Investment Strategy
The scheme seeks to invest only in and all the stocks comprising the Nifty Next 50 Index in the same weights of these stocks as in the Index with the objective to replicate the performance of the Total Returns Index of Nifty Next 50 Index.

Capital Gains Taxation
- If the mutual fund units are sold after 1 year from the date of investment, gains upto Rs 1.25 lakh in a financial year are exempt from tax. Gains over Rs 1.25 lakh are taxed at the rate of 12.5%.
- If the mutual fund units are sold within 1 year from the date of investment, entire amount of gain is taxed at the rate of 20%.
- No tax is to be paid as long as you continue to hold the units.
