Direct funds. Who watches your mix?
Ashutosh Gupta explains where rebalancing advice stands after a viewer moves to direct plans.
If I switch from regular to direct funds, I will miss the advisory on rebalancing my funds. Does Value Research help on this aspect? - Javed Siddiqui
Ashutosh Gupta: You have been using the service, so you already get the main benefits. On your existing holdings, we tell you how each one stacks up and whether it is worth holding or exiting. We also give you your complete asset mix. Rebalancing comes down to seeing that picture clearly, across everything you own, not only your mutual funds.
If you hold other investments, you can add them to the Fund Advisor platform. Add your NPS, your direct stocks and any fixed deposits, and you get a realistic view of your asset allocation across all of it. That makes the decision far easier.
Say you follow a 75:25 split between equity and debt. The platform shows you how that split moves over time. If the equity side drifts to 85 a couple of years on, that is a clear signal to trim equity and move the money to debt. That is the support you get.
Value Research Fund Advisor is a SEBI-registered advisory that builds personalised mutual fund portfolios around your goals, reviews what you already own and gets you access to commission-free direct plans. Check out for more.
