It is almost universally agreed that SIPs are good. However, few people test this proposition with hard data. Even fewer investors understand the nuts-and-bolts of SIPs by actually running simulations against real historical data. In our mammoth SIP study we did exactly that.
We looked at 367,000 possible SIPs in 217 schemes of equity and balanced funds over the past 25 years. This was made possible by our vast, long-term mutual fund database.
How much did a typical 5 year SIP deliver? How much did it deliver at the very minimum? And how much difference did picking the wrong fund make?
We answer these questions and many other important ones in our next Money Hangout. Join us.
