What does it do?
The policy covers unforeseen hospitalisation expenses along with the incidental expenses like ambulance cost, organ donor hospitalisation, etc. It also covers domiciliary hospitalisation and second opinion. Also, the policy reinstates the sum insured, if depleted in a policy year. The restored sum insured, however, cannot be utilized for treatment of illness(es) for which the claim was made in the policy year.
Pros
It offers Automatic Policy Recharge at no extra premium if initial sum insured gets depleted.
Covers domiciliary hospitalisation.
Premium paid is eligible for tax benefit under Section 80D.
Cons
Restored sum insured cannot be used for treatment of the illness for which a claim has already been made.
