About ICICI Prudential Equity & Debt Fund
ICICI Prudential Equity & Debt Fund is a hybrid mutual fund scheme of ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. Launched on November 03, 1999, it is currently managed by Mittul Kalawadia, Manish Banthia, Sankaran Naren, Sri Sharma, Akhil Kakkar, Sharmila D'Silva and Nitya Mishra. The fund has an expense ratio of 1.24% with an overall AUM (Assets Under Management) of ₹50,368 Cr.
ICICI Prudential Equity & Debt Fund invests 65-80 per cent of its assets in equity stocks and the remaining 20-35 per cent in bonds. The fund allows minimum lumpsum investment of ₹1,000 and minimum SIP of ₹100.
Investment Strategy
The scheme seeks to generate long-term capital appreciation and current income by investing in a portfolio that is investing in equities and related securities as well as fixed income and money market securities. The approximate allocation to equity would be in the range of 60-80 per cent with a minimum of 51 per cent, and the approximate debt allocation is 40-49 per cent, with a minimum of 20 per cent.

Aggressive Hybrid funds are suitable for investors:
- Looking to invest mostly in equity (~75%) with a small debt allocation (~25%) for moderately high returns
- Aiming for long-term wealth creation
- With a 5-8 year investment horizon
- Who are new/unfamiliar with market's ups and downs
Note:
- Invest only through SIP
Capital Gains Taxation
- If the mutual fund units are sold after 1 year from the date of investment, gains upto Rs 1.25 lakh in a financial year are exempt from tax. Gains over Rs 1.25 lakh are taxed at the rate of 12.5%.
- If the mutual fund units are sold within 1 year from the date of investment, entire amount of gain is taxed at the rate of 20%.
- No tax is to be paid as long as you continue to hold the units.
