The approach for such an international fund should be the same as for any normal equity fund, says Dhirendra Kumar

What should be my time horizon for the Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 fund?

I have purchased the Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 fund as suggested by you. For how long shall I hold this fund?
- Harish

The approach should be the same as for any normal equity fund. Because Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 is an equity fund, the only difference being the money is invested in foreign companies. And I am hopeful that this type of fund, including the FANG+ fund, which is more concentrated, would perform well because they invest in very rapidly growing technology companies that do not have comparables in India. Yes, we do have technology companies in India, but they are not of the kind you can invest in with the help of the funds mentioned above.

So, hold it for the long term and don't have expectations in the short term. These funds behave like any typical equity fund in shorter periods and may even give negative returns. Have an investment horizon of at least 3-4 years.
