Dhirendra Kumar says how should a first-time investor like him approach mutual funds
11-Apr-2017 •Research Desk
I am a first-time investor but I can take risk. I want to invest in mutual funds for a tenure of 10-15 years. How should I go about it?
- Pradeep, Uttar Pradesh
Answer: Even if you are ready to take risk, as a new investor when you actually face any market correction, you might be in a different situation. I will still suggest you should stick to balanced fund for the initial 2-3 years, and then move to all equity funds. If you want some tax-saving benefits, you should choose ELSS funds over balanced fund.
