Can I continue to contribute to NPS after the age of 60?

You must intimate this intention in writing to Central Recordkeeping agency (CRA, NSDL) at least 15 days before attaining 60 years of age

I have NPS account for general purpose. As per latest notification contribution to NPS account can be continued beyond 60 years of age. Recently when tried to contribute online payment through CRA website, I wasn't allowed to contribute stating that I m not eligible.

After attaining 60 years of age, you have an option to continue investing in NPS up to the age of 70 years under the all-citizens model (which excludes Government employees). However, you must intimate this intention in writing to Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA, NSDL) at least 15 days before the attainment of 60 years of age. Since you have already crossed age 60, you can write to the CRA to find out about your options.

You can contribute till you are 70 years old. Whenever you exit, you must use at least 40 per cent of the money to buy an annuity. If you are exiting before you are 70, you have the option to defer withdrawal of the money till you are 70.
