What are the steps taken by various AMCs to train their fund managers? Is there any course for making them good stock pickers because that is the fundamental thing?

All AMCs are supposed to be diligent in hiring the people who work for them. There is a board of trustees that ensures that the right people are hired. However, there isn't a course or licensing mechanism for fund managers. But since the whole business of mutual funds depends on performance, AMCs are diligent about ensuring that a sensible person manages investors' money.
